A Special Page

This site is dedicated to Missy Anne, my pitbull cross, whom I will always love and miss.
Adopted into her forever home October 7, 2004
Left for the Rainbow Bridge June 3, 2005

It is not my intention to intimidate, but rather to educate.
If we don't know what's really going on, how can we even begin to stop it?

PLEASE READ - A Word of Caution: There are some disturbing images on some of the following pages. Though they are difficult to view, I feel it's necessary to do whatever it is I can to get the word out about these horrific practices.

We can all try to bury our heads in the sand and pretend that there are not such terrible things going on or we can simply ignore it in the hopes that it will go away. The truth is, there are such things happening to animals all over the world and it's up to us to try and stop it. We may not beable to save them all, but we can take pride in the fact that we saved as many as was humanly possible.

I have been critized for putting together this website. So much so, that I had to remove my guestbook. Believe me, I once thought hunting of wild game was okay and I had no idea what puppy mills were or what declawing a cat really meant. I never gave thought to the animals in shelters and those that were tossed into a landfill because no one wanted them. I was dumb, to put it mildly. I would give everything to have known then what I know now. I forced myself to see the pictures and read the text and reality finally settled in.

I still hear people saying that they won't adopt from shelters because a person never knows what he's getting. I have had several dogs over the years and currently have 4. All my dogs were/are rescues. I'm also "mom" to 7 beautiful felines. Yep, you guessed it - all rescues. I hear people speak of 'being guaranteed to get their elk, deer, bear, whatever every year at hunting season time. I know how that guarantee works, but I haven't been able to convince others that it's plain and simple wrong. I once knew a couple who run a puppy mill. Because we were good friends, I just naturally thought they took care of their dogs. I didn't havea clue to what puppy mills really are. Our friend passed away witrh cancer and his dogs - adults and puppies - were shot to death. If I am able to reach only one person through this website, then I will consider that a victory. That's one person who may have never discovered the truth.

I have made separate pages for those issues which are nearest and dearest to me personally.

The Rail

I am a proud member of The Rail! (Animal Car)

I am an animal lover and an animal advocate. I support anti-cruelty, animal welfare, and animal rights. I believe we need to get the word out to people by whatever means we possibly can. Thus, the reason for this site. It's my small contribution in helping our animal friends.

Though I do love all animals, cats are my number one favorite. I'm owned by 7 of these fascinating creatures, with many, many more waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge, as well as many canines.

I have been a pet parent to guinea pigs, hamsters, chickens, and a goose in the past. Some would find it strange having a chicken or a goose as a companion pet, but they can become just as close to you as a dog or cat can ~ and even more so than a guinea pig, hamster, rat, mouse, or snake.
